Martin Walter, General Manager

Martin joined Northwind in 2006 as the Team Manager and brings to the organization experience in the management of football operations and corporate team development.

His involvement in Australian football in Canada began in 2005 when he became Head Coach of the Broadview Hawks. The following year he coached the Hawks to its first Grand Final berth since 2001 and was named the OAFL Coach of the Year.

Outside his football life, Martin is a corporate geologist and business entrepreneur and has a great deal of experience in financing and developing early stage publicly listed mining companies. This experience should prove valuable in terms of funding, sponsorship, and the general development of Northwind as the team prepares for the International Cup to be held in Melbourne in 2008.

He is currently the President and CEO of Sierra Minerals Inc., a Toronto Stock Exchange mining company. He has a degree in geology from Ballarat University in Australia, as well as an MBA from the University of Toronto.
