Australia Day Activities

January 26th commemorates the day in 1788 on which Captain Arthur Phillip organised and officiated at the first ceremony of the new British colony then called New South Wales. Some refer to the day as "Survival Day", others as "Invasion Day", but most Aussies that I know just use Australia Day as another excuse to have some beers.

The Age articleTwo of Canada's young talents were recently given a chance to train with the Sydney Swans while they were in Los Angeles for an exhibition game. They were featured in Australia's The Age.
